Pectoralis Major Wall Stretch
by Dr. Christopher Notley
Muscles Stretched
- Pectoralis Major
- Front deltoid
Start Position
- Facing wall
- With arm straight, place palm of hand on wall at shoulder level
Finish Position
- Bring shoulder to the wall
- If you can bring the shoulder to the wall and there is no stretch then turn the body away from the wall keeping the shoulder against the wall.
Modifications
- Place hand above or below shoulder level
- Make a fist with the thumb up. Place the hand against the wall so the thumb points away from the wall
Alternatives
- Change the height of your hand. This will change how and where the stretch is felt.
- Use a door jam or a pole instead of a wall.
Other Options
- Pectoralis major corner stretch
- Biceps wall stretch
